Frequently Asked Questions
How many invitations should I order?
Remember, you don’t need to order one invitation for everyone on your guest list! In general, account for one invitation per household. Any children living with their parents should get their own invitation if they are at least 18 years old. Guests living together but who are not related or in a relationship (i.e. roommates) should each get their own invitation.
Will you help me with invitation etiquette?
Yes! When you contract with us, we will walk you through everything you need to successfully navigate wedding invitation etiquette. However, we want your wedding day to be a representation of you - if it feels too stuffy to follow the traditional etiquette rules, we can work together to find a middle ground that feels most appropriate to you!
When do I need to start thinking about invitations?
If you want to keep the same feel from your save the dates through your day-of stationery (and we really recommend that you do!), start planning your stationery at least 8 months in advance. We will generally start booking 18 months in advance for full-custom suites, and 12 months in advance for semi-custom suites.
We recommend sending out save the dates at least 6 months in advance (8 months if it is a destination wedding), and invitations 8-12 weeks in advance (again, err on the longer side for destination weddings!)
Your RSVP deadline should be at least 3 weeks before your wedding date (check with your other vendors to see when they need final counts and then give yourself AT LEAST an additional week to make phone calls to any missing RSVPs).
