About Hawthorn Weddings
Hey I’m Carrie! I’m just a detail-loving girl from a small town who spent dozens of hours scouring the internet for the perfect wedding invitations. Seriously, researching invitations could have been my full time job for weeks! I eventually decided to make my own, and that’s where the obsession began. I acquired a Chandler & Price Craftsman letterpress, a laser cutter, and a lot of experience dealing with the pickiest customer I know (myself).
Hawthorn Weddings offers fully custom invitation suites with a full array of coordinating day-of items. From tiny favor-tags to show-stopping escort walls, bring your wildest inspiration and I’ll do my best to bring it to life.
Reach out via our contact form if you have questions, and I’ll get right back to you!
About Letterpress
Letterpress printing is a process with a long history, going back at least to the 1400s. The invention of “movable type” revolutionized the way that we learn and share information. Before the first printing presses were invented, books were copied by hand and could only be accessed by the very wealthy. It did not take long for this technology to be improved and it was the primary method of printing up until the late 20th century, when computers and digital printers began to take over. Today, most, if not all presses in operation are at least 60 years old, with many significantly older.
Letterpress printers (like me!) are dedicated to preserving this craft in our modern world. In my opinion, the beauty and texture of letterpress is unmatched. When you hold your letterpressed invitations, you are holding a piece of history, and I hope you will treat them as keepsakes!
